All Terrace residents know the Kermode Spirit Bear.

All visitors to the Terrace-Kitimat Airport will be greeted by
Terrace’s favorite late Kermode Bear;
Gimpy;

Unless you are determined and lucky,
Gimpy is probably the only Kermode Bear you’ll see.

But if you’re determined, drive north of Terrace on the gorgeous Nisga’a Highway,
with the first ever Kermode Sighting Map. The Nisga’a Highway is your best chance to see
a Kermode Bear, as well as some awesome picturesque scenery; Lakes, rivers, creeks, waterfalls,
mountains, historic community of Rosswood, culturally rich First Nations communities and
Canada’s youngest volcano and Nisga’a Memorial Lava Beds.
